At the FIG, we offer engaging and educational chess programs for K–5 students that spark critical thinking, strategy skills, and confidence. Whether your child is a beginner or ready for advanced play, our chess after-school program is designed to meet their level and help them grow.

Chess Tournament

Beginners Chess: Build a Strong Foundation

Our Beginners Chess class introduces young learners to the game of chess in a fun, supportive environment. Kids will:

  • Learn the rules and movements of each piece

  • Develop basic strategies and tactics

  • Improve focus, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Gain confidence through friendly competitions
     

Perfect for kids who are new to chess or looking to strengthen their foundational skills.

Advanced Chess: Challenge and Grow

For students ready to take their game to the next level, our Advanced Chess program dives deeper into strategy and competitive play. Students will:

  • Explore advanced tactics and openings

  • Learn to anticipate opponents’ moves

  • Participate in structured games and tournaments

  • Develop analytical thinking and long-term planning skills
     

Our advanced classes prepare young players for local chess competitions and foster a lifelong love of the game.
